Ray Ban

Ray Ban was founded in 1937 by Bausch & Lomb due to the US Air Army Corps needing sunglasses to protect the pilots eyes whilst in flight, and so the Aviator was born. This iconic pair of sunglasses was created to be practical yet stylish, the gold-plated metal frame glasses featured green lenses made out of mineral glass to filter out UV and infrared rays. They soon became famous after General Douglas McArthur was photographed landing in the Philippines whilst wearing them. This design that is still considered iconic and stylish, is what made Ray Ban the internationally recognised brand that it is today. Now Italian based, Ray Ban continues to create iconic styles of sunglasses such as the Wayfarer, Clubmaster, Outdoorsman and the Jackie O and many more.
